Itsettled is a web app that helps sole traders and small businesses recoup debts owed to them using a 12 step legal process.
I was responsible for the UI design of the app and marketing website, as well as illustrations for the company’s blogs and resources.
I chose to design the UI components around a nautical theme as the client liked the idea of settling choppy waters.
The navy and pink colours, logo and typeface were already in place from a previous iteration of the app by another agency. I tried to build a complimentary look and feel around those existing elements, in the design of the components and an expanded colour palette.
The idea of the itsettled app is to guide the user through a series of actions over a set period of time in order for them to get late invoices paid to them, these actions increase in seriousness as the invoice becomes more overdue.
The client was keen to make the process as streamlined as possible for the user. A lot of information had to be included on this main case page and it ran the risk of becoming overwhelming. I designed the components to make clear zones, arranging relevant pieces of information together and in an appropriate hierarchy. Users can see what they have done and what is left to do.
I completed the first few illustrations for the itsettled website’s blogs and resources before giving the company a set of assets so that they could create their own going forward.
The illustrations carried on the nautical theme from the app and were kept to a limited palette for consistency across the website.
