Rafft is a tool designed by the Big Lemon Agency to enable small teams to keep track of staff holidays. I was responsible for the illustrations and decorative elements of the app and was part of the UI team.
Rafft is for both employers and employees. Using the app, employees can request leave and see the amount of leave they have remaining, while employers can respond to leave requests and have overview of who’s off when.
The idea was to make the action of requesting and being granted leave straightforward and transparent.
The app would have to be aesthetically pleasing and an enjoyable experience to encourage people to use it.
I chose a bright colour palette and included lots of illustrations to inject a bit of fun into what is a pretty dry task. Users can also choose a cute animal avatar for their profile.
I developed a series of illustrated avatars to represent users. The animals I chose are all found either in or near bodies of water. All the figures are in white with opacity gradients so that they can be placed on any colour background.
